IVM's Chemistry & Biology accredited
After a few years of hard work, IVM’s Chemistry & Biology department (C&B) has received an official accreditation from the Dutch Accreditation Council (RvA). The accreditation is valid for a number of key analyses in the C&B laboratory such as PCBs, PAHs and brominated flame retardants in various matrices such as sediments, water, biological tissues, dust, human blood, etc.
The department is now accredited under no. L476, with a flexible scope, according to ISO/IEC 17025:2005. The accreditation, however, comprises much more than ‘only’ performing analyses. All aspects related to the workflow in the department have been internally evaluated, written down and scrutinized by the auditors.
This accreditation ensures a very good market position for the C&B department because a growing number of organizations requires accreditation when contracting out research projects.
Early 2011 the accreditation will be celebrated when the certificate will be handed out at IVM by an RvA representative.
