As a PhD candidate it is important to deepen your knowledge and skills, enabling yourself to become a fully qualified scientist with an excellent perspective for a career of your choice. The educational program for PhD candidates of the faculties of Sciences (FEW) and Earth and Life Sciences (FALW) provides for a variety of activities enhancing your academic, professional and general skills.

Graduate schools listed by department

Below, you will find an overview of the graduate school for each department of the faculties of FEW and FALW. Please visit the pages of the graduate schools for more information about the education this graduate school offers. Some departments have joint a national research school instead of a graduate school. Therefore the website links in some cases to a web address not part of the VU. For general questions PhD’s can contact the PhD coordinator of the department.
