Admission requirements
The research Master’s programme is relevant for students with a Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences and Health and Life Sciences. Students with a Bachelor's degree in Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, Human Movement Sciences, or any other relevant Bachelor's degree need to show that their programme included sufficient methodological and statistical courses or take a summer course in Epidemiology at VU University Amsterdam.
If you do not meet the formal admission requirements, the examination board will consider your application on an individual basis.

Language proficiency requirements
VU University Amsterdam requires international applicants to take an English test and to submit their score as a part of the application. Exceptions are made for students who have completed their education in Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, New Zealand or Australia or who have obtained an international Baccalaureate or European Baccalaureate diploma.Further information on the minimum English language proficiency requirements (TOEFL, IELTS, CAE, CPE) is available under the section How to apply?
Alle bachelorstudenten die vanaf 1 september 2012 willen starten met de masteropleidingen Geosciences of Basins and Lithosphere, Global Health, Lifestyle and Chronic Disorders en Neurosciences zijn verplicht om middels een toets aan te tonen dat hun Engels op een minimum niveau is. Limited number of admissions
If there are more than 30 applicants, a personal interview will also form part of the selection procedure. The interview is designed to determine a candidate’s suitability for the programme. Preference will be given to those who have completed a scientific work placement during their Bachelor’s studies, who have authored or co-authored a scientific publication, or who have completed an honours track. Master’s students should be inquisitive, motivated, able to take initiatives, able to work well with others, be critical and have clear ideas about their future scientific careers.
