The Athena Institute is involved in research projects in several fields. Our developed inter- and transdisciplinary expertise to share mutual types of knowledge (e.g. academic life science knowledge and experiential knowledge of consumers, patients and end users) resonates with the core issues such as globalization, sustainable development, social corporate responsibility and system innovation.
Our research projects are characterized by
- The cross cutting domain of life science innovations and social analysis
- Problems that are complex and sensitive due to multi-stakeholder involvement
- An ‘research in action’ approach that consists of multi- and trans-disciplinary methods
- A research style which involves close collaboration between senior, junior and internship students (often together with relevant stakeholders)
- Results that are focused on high impact and implementation-trajectories in the institutions at stake
