Introduction
Mariette van Amstel is the PhD coordinator of the Athena Institute. She supports, stimulates and encourages PhD students and junior researchers to develop their skills and project management. Trained as laywer and political scientist, Mariette. wrote her own dissertation about the reliability of eco-labels to stimulate sustainability. Mariette’s current research interests are learning, human rights/equity, sustainability, urban health, transdisciplinarity and communication.
