Hydrology PhD programme

The PhD programme of the Department of Hydrology and Geo-environmental Sciences focuses on the interaction between water, nutrients and carbon with the atmosphere, vegetation, soil and groundwater reservoirs. We have a number of PhD students involved in research projects on subjects related to water resources and impacts of global climate change. Our PhD projects span a range of disciplines including surface and groundwater hydrology, micrometeorology, plant physiology, forest ecology, geophysics, hydrochemistry and isotope hydrology, remote sensing and computer modelling.
The department does not have university funding for its PhD research projects and depends completely on external funding. PhD positions regularly become available when research proposals have been approved for funding.
The links below provide information about our present research projects and any available PhD or Postdoc positions.
