Laura Font

Laura is a Marie Curie post-doctoral fellow in the Petrology Department. She started her project mid February 2008. Laura’s research focuses on the application of radiogenic and stable isotope ratios on bird feathers and other environmental components, to use them as tracking tools to track the end-points of migratory birds’ paths.
 
Laura’s research background is in hard rock geochemistry. She has previously worked on melt inclusions in basaltic rocks from mid-ocean ridges, and performed micro-isotope studies on plagioclase crystals to constrain contamination processes of magmas in large igneous provinces.
