Research interests

I am from China, and I am very glad to continue my research here as a PhD student. My research interests are ecotoxicogenomic and genetics. I will do research with ecotoxicogenomics for ecological effects assessment by using invertebrate animal’s transcription profile. If you have any questions or want a discussion with me, please feel free to contact me.

Research project

Development and Validation of the iSQ (invertebrate soil quality) Chip for Ecological Effects Assessment of Chemicals from Bio-based Industry

This project will develop and validate gene expression profiles as a biomarker for soil quality management. Transcriptomic tools are much more flexible and more comprehensive compared to classical biomarkers. Transcription profiling as an environmental monitoring tools has shown to be rapidity, sensitive and specific. An invertebrate soil Quality(iSQ) Chip were developed and applied already for a upcoming genomic model species with high ecological relevance for soil quality assessment, the collembolan Folsomia candida.

Right now, a new version of iSQ chip containing over 71,000 probes is  under testing. Finally, a new iSQ chip will be developed based on the full genome of F.candia for ecological effect assessment, especially for soil quality assessment with respect to field soils. Meanwhile, a cluster of genes which could classify very specific chemical compounds for ecotoxicological testing or different toxic effect of a same compound will be generated.
