Lia Auliaherliaty MSc
Introduction
Hello! I am Lia, a laboratory technician with geoscience background, who is supervised by Prof. Dr. Jelte Rozema. I have experience performing stable isotope and trace elements analyses derived from marine samples, i.e. coccolithophores. Now, working with terrestrial plant samples is really a good experience for me.
Task
Currently, I am responsible for sample preparation and also performs carbon and oxygen isotope analysis from Cassiope tetragona (leaves and stems). The δ13C analysis is performed by employing a CE- NC1500 elemental analyser coupled to a Finnigan Delta Plus IRMS with ConFlo II interface and δ18O analysis will be performed by employing a Finnigan TC/EA (High Temperature Concersion/Elemental Analysis). The project which I involve is part of International Polar Year (IPY) project entittled “Long-lived evergreen shrubs from polar ecosystems as monitors of present-day and past climate change, the development of a tree ring like proxy to reconstruct polar climate”.
Check the links of Prof. Dr. Jelte Rozema and Stef Weijers, MSc for the project deta.

Other activity
In my spare time, I love cooking and knitting (a new hobby), and also am busy completing my PhD thesis in the Section Marine Biogeology, FALW, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. My thesis is part of ESF Euroclimate project so called the MERF project.
