Expertise

Jolanda Bos specializes in archaeological site management, the use of heritage and the stimulation of public awareness on cultural assets. Over the years her interest has shifted from archaeology to broader heritage management. At the IGBA Jolanda is working on her PhD on Egyptian archaeological site management in close cooperation with the Cotsen Institute of Archaeology of the University of California Los Angeles. Knowledge of the degradation of archaeological remains at the basis of site management is the emphasis of her research.

 

Recent Projects

  • Karanis Site and Landscape Management Project (UCLA and VU Amsterdam); the main project for Jolanda´s PhD research.
  • Ababda Cultural Heritage Project (EDAPP); a combination of archaeological and cultural heritage management.
  • Jolanda consults several other excavation projects in Egypt on site management.
